History

Bradford Swimming Club was founded in 1965 and has since this date endeavoured to teach children in the Bradford area to swim as well as coach them in the techniques and stamina required for competitive swimming.

Bradford Swimming Club is an active club, which provides regular training opportunities for swimmers of all abilities through the weekly training nights on Tuesdays, Fridays & Sundays. Club members choose which and how many sessions to attend. There is a positive training ethic, a recognition of the importance of progress, and weekly coached sessions run by qualified coaches. The club has a Committee who meet on a regular basis and an AGM is held every year.

. We currently have approximately 100 swimming members who compete in swimming galas in the Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield areas. A number of our swimmers also compete in galas held at pools such as Ponds Forge in Sheffield and the International Pool in Leeds in Yorkshires’, Northern Counties & the Nationals.   We have a fully qualified ASA Coach and several ASA Teachers and Assistant Teachers to provide the best possible tuition to our swimmers. We cater for a broad spectrum of swimming abilities from complete beginners to County standard swimmers and our Membership Fees and Training Session Charges are probably the lowest in the area. It's not all swimming though as we have a very active Social side as we pride ourselves on being a very friendly and family based Club. Throughout the year we organise Disco's, Horse Racing Nights, Car Treasure Hunts etc to which all our swimmers and their families are most welcome. The highlight of our social calendar has to be our exchange visits to our Twin Club in Germany , Monchengladbacher Schwimmverein. Everybody who has had the opportunity to go on one of these exchange visits has had a thoroughly enjoyable time and returned to Bradford exhausted from all the partying …… Oh!! and of course from the swimming. ( We do actually compete in a Swimming Gala whilst we are in Germany . )   If this very brief profile has wet your appetite then please visit the rest of our web site. It will give you an idea of all the things we get up to. If you have any further questions then please use the E Mail facility or better still visit us at one of our Training Sessions. We will be happy to meet you.
